That didn't last long....

As I expected, I have done horrible with keeping up with the 101 in 1001, and so, I'm giving up for now. Why I thought I could do it with an infant in the house is beyond me, but it was a nice thought for awhile. It's done, but I'm not. I'm going to keep this lovely blog open, it just won't be for the 101 stuff. I'm sure you'd all much rather hear me ramble about my boring old life anyway. :)

Hi my name is Sara, and I'm on a diet....again

I threw myself back into Weight Watchers again today, for what seems like the billionth time. I am beyond unhappy with my weight and what I have done to myself since I had the baby. I have not been kind to myself, and neither has food. So again, I go back to that which worked once, almost twice, and pray that I can get it right.
I am going to make a tremendous effort to get 10lbs off by Halloween, which won't be easy with all that yummy candy appearing on shelves for that same holiday, and with the Big E coming up. I can hear the cheese curds calling my name right now...

Had some great willpower today though when I was at the mall. I circled through the food court and the little food place at Target (where I like to get stuffed on nachos) and decided that I didn't need any junk, and came home and had a roast beef sandwich instead. :) Go me! How I did it, I don't know, but I am very happy that I made that choice.

Nate experienced his first air show today! Second hand though, because I wouldn't bring him outside when the planes were flying around, because they were low and so loud! Would have hurt his little ears. Maybe tomorrow I'll sneak him outside for a minute or two. We never have to go to the base to see the planes, which is great, because my mom's house is in a neighborhood that is right next to the base, so we get to see everything up in the air really well.

Next weekend is the big giant neighborhood tag sale in the next neighborhood over, which we'll probably go walk around in, and the Big E starts on Friday! woo! Looking forward to a lot of walking and scoping out some Christmas gifts for the little guy.

Crazy? Why yes!

I've decided that I need to add more stuff to my already busy life, so I started this blog, and even better, I am going to do the 101 in 1001. If I can keep it up and actually do it, this blog will follow it along, and be a place for anything else my brain wants to expel! :)

What is the 101 in 1001?

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.
2. Stay Focused. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.
3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.
4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.
5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

Once I get my list completed in the next few days, I'll post it and my start/end dates.
